Evaluating the financial and performance impact of bovine respiratory disease (BRD) in receiving cattle. The study examined finishing performance, efficiency, carcass characteristics, lung score, as well as overall economic implications on steers. In this study, 66.5% morbidity and 13.2% mortality were attributed to BRD. The first source of economic loss for calves with BRD was carcass value at slaughter, followed by therapy cost and increased feed cost due to increased time spent at the feedyard.
